• Scanned passport size colour photograph in JPEG format (preferably from digital camera) - front view of the face covering 70 - 80% of the photo and taken within the past 6 months.


• Scanned legible signature of the aspirant as a JPEG file


• Scanned left hand thumb impression of the aspirant as a JPEG file

Cut-Off Marks and Ranking for JEE (Advanced) - 2015

Only those candidates who attempted both Paper - 1 and Paper - 2 of JEE (Advanced) - 2015 will be considered for the ranking. Marks in Physics in JEE (Advanced) - 2015 will be equal to marks in Physics section of Paper - 1 plus marks in Physics section of Paper - 2. Similar procedures will be followed for Chemistry and Mathematics. The sum of the marks obtained in the individual subjects will be the aggregate marks for the candidate. 

• Rank Lists: Based on the performance in JEE (Advanced) - 2015, a Common Merit List (CML) will be prepared. Separate category wise merit lists are also prepared simultaneously as per the declared cut-off percentages as given below.

  *Separate merit lists will be prepared for preparatory course only if the number of SC/ST/PD candidates in the respective merit lists is less than 1.4 times the number of seats available in the respective categories.


• While preparing the merit lists, if a candidate belongs to more than one category of relaxed norms, then he/she for the purpose of ranking shall be considered in all the categories in which he/she qualifies. There will be no separate waiting list for such candidates.


• Tie- break criteria: The tie-break criterion in the various merit lists adopted for awarding ranks to the candidates who have scored the same aggregate marks is as follows: Higher rank for higher marks in Mathematics, followed by marks in Physics and same rank in case both the candidates have the same marks in each of the three subjects.

Note: Obtaining a rank in JEE (Advanced) - 2015 does not guarantee admission to any of the courses available in IITs and ISM Dhanbad.

Eligibility for JEE (Advanced) - 2015

There are five important criteria listed below, failing in any one of them will disqualify the aspirant from procuring a seat in the colleges under JEE (Advanced) 2015. 

JEE Main 2015: Candidates have to appear for Paper - I of JEE (Main) - 2015. Only top 1,50,000 candidates (including all categories) out of the qualifying candidates in Paper - I of JEE (Main) - 2015 will be eligible to appear for JEE (Advanced) - 2015. Distribution of top 1,50,000 candidates across various categories is as follows:

Top 22500 (15 %)	Scheduled Caste (SC)

3% of the total candidates in each category are reserved for PD candidates as per GoI norms

Age Limit: Candidates of GE and OBC categories must have been born on or after October 01, 1990 and those of SC, ST and PwD categories must have been born on or after October 01, 1985.

Minimum Marks in Qualifying Examination (QE) for JEE (Advanced) 2015: Admission to the 16 IITs and ISM Dhanbad will be based only on category wise All India Rank (AIR) in JEE (Advanced) - 2015, under the condition that such aspirants satisfy AT LEAST ONE OF THE TWO CRITERIA given below: 

1. He/ she is in the top 20 percentile of successful aspirants of their respective Boards (or equivalent examination) in their respective categories.


2. 2. He/ she has secured 75% (for GEN/ OBC - NCL) or 70% (for SC/ ST/ PD) in their respective boards (or equivalent examinations).
   
   • If the Board does not provide the information regarding the same, the candidate will have to produce a certificate from the concerned Board stating that he/she falls within the top 20 percentile.
     If the candidate fails to do so, then the CBSE percentile will be used as the criteria for deciding minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination.
   • If the Board awards only letter grades (without providing an equivalent percentage of marks on the grade sheet) the candidate should obtain a certificate from the Board specifying the equivalent marks, and submit it at the time of counselling.
     In case such a certificate is not provided the decision taken by the Joint Implementation Committee (JIC) of JEE (Advanced) - 2015 will be final.

The Question Paper and the ORS of JEE (Advanced) - 2015

BOTH question papers (paper 1 and paper 2) will consist of three separate sections on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The questions papers will be printed separately in English and in Hindi. The aspirants have to specify the language of the question paper at the time of online registration for JEE Advanced 2015.

BOTH papers will have objective type (multiple choice) and numerical answer type questions for which the answers need to be marks on an ORS (Optical Response Sheet). The questions are designed to test comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of candidates. Ther#

The pattern of the papers, marking pattern and the total marks are not revealed. But one can be sure that in some sections, incorrect answers will be awarded negative marks. So it is essential to read through the instructions thoroughly.

For each question paper the candidates mark their answers by darkening the bubble(s) against correct answer(s) using black ball point pen only. The ORS will have 2-sheets (of carbonless paper) - the upper sheet is specially designed machine readable sheet of paper on which the candidates mark their responses and the lower sheet will be handed to the aspirants by the invigilator(s) at the end of the examination. It is important that the aspirants make their marking on the top sheet of the ORS so as to create a readable impression on the lower sheet. Paper 2 

• The services of a Scribe are available to aspirants who are visually impaired, dyslexic, have disability in the upper limbs or have lost fingers and will not be able to mark on the ORS. For this, the candidate must submit a separate request letter (as per format given in http://jeeadv.iitb.ac.in/sites/default/files/
  uploads/formats/FormEC5_Scribe.pdf) to the Chairman of respective Zonal IIT while registering for JEE (Advanced) - 2015 along with a copy of the PD certificate obtained from the district medical board (as per format given in http://jeeadv.iitb.ac.in/sites/default/files/
  uploads/formats/FormEC3_PwD.pdf). One hour extra time will be allowed to such candidates. Such aspirants will be provided with a scribe one hour before the start of the exam by the presiding officer of the exam centre.


• Use of electronic devices like mobile phone, calculator, iPod, etc. is NOT PERMITTED in the exam hall. Likewise log table, book, notebook, etc. SHOULD NOT be brought into the examination hall.
